About Erika
Erika has been eventing successfully, both nationally and internationally, for over 30 years. She has experience both on the east coast and the west coast and has spent some time eventing in Southeast Asia, competing in Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. She is a Pony Club B graduate and has experience through the Intermediate level eventing and has successfully completed several long format CCI*s. Her interest in dressage started with a trip to the Pony Club national dressage championships in Lexington, Kentucky when she was 16, and it has continued to be a passion of hers. She has competed through Third level and has made herself a new goal of obtaining her bronze medal in dressage. Erika has a special interest in Off the Track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs), and has retrained several to become successful eventing partners. Her current partner is an 8 yr old OTTB named Twice Wild aka Wiley. He has been with Erika for a year and a half and is currently competing successfully at Training level. Although she loves Thoroughbreds, she also rides/trains many different breeds of horses to event as well as do dressage.
Erika is responsible for organizing the USEA Area I Horse Trials hosted by Course Brook Farm every October. In addition, Erika manages several schooling shows and clinics at Course Brook each year. She particularly enjoys designing the jump courses for the schooling shows. During the summer of 2016, Erika attended a course design seminar at Waredaca in Maryland to expand her abilities to provide the best experience possible. Erika majored in English at the University of New Hampshire. She resides in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, with her husband Tom, her retired horse Sparkie and her dog Ben. |
Erika has been a client for more than 15 years and has always shown a strong interest in keeping her horses and her clients' horses very comfortable and as sound as possible so they are able to perform at their best. “ |
